BABY IS HERE!!!

Sorry it took so long to post this. I've had a difficult recovery, but I'm really starting to feel better now. Jacob was born on Dec. 16, 2009. Labor was hard and painful and I ended up having to have a C-section. Jacob wasn't lining up right for a vaginal birth. Guess he was just to comfy in there he didn't want to come out! The guy who administered the epidural was an idiot and "forgot" to turn the machine on for the medicine. So after the test shot wore off (about 30 min.) I was in the most intense pain ever! No one figured out the idiot didn't turn on the machine until I was told I needed an emergency C-section due to the baby not coming out fast enough. I pushed without drugs or pain medicine for 3 LONG hours!! It was the hardest thing I ever went thru, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat just for him. He's just so perfect and beautiful, I couldn't ask for more.
James is so good with him. He's such a natural. Jacob is already a daddy's boy. When I as pregnant all James had to do was put his hand on my tummy to calm him down. Now that Jacob is here all he has to do is hold him and Jacob just relaxes almost instantly. It has been alot of work as far as feeding him every three hours around the clock and then trying to find time for sleep. He's a little pro at breast feeding and had the perfect latch the very first time he tried. Which is one of the things I was scared of because if he has a bad latch then you get pain and bloody nipples....ouch!!!!We spent 6 days in the hospital due to kidney problems which we are still working out.
It's been really nice to be home and to see Jacob use his own things instead of the hospitals. Jacob has already tried out his swing, bouncy, bassinet, and sling. He loves them all already. James and I are really loving having a REAL changing table instead of a hospital bed to change him on. It really makes things much easier because it brings him right up to your level.Other than that we are just hanging out around the house trying to find a routine that will work for us and enjoying our new precious little boy.
